The closet eater

I could hear rummaging in the pantry. I opened the door to find this little man had pulled the oreo's down, opened the bag and was gnawing away on one.

I took it away, and was met with this face.

I felt bad so I let him gnaw on it a little longer, sat down and enjoyed a few myself.

Annual Shopping Trip

This was our third annual shopping trip, and it did not disappoint. When lots of food, shopping, pedicures, and laughing are involved, how could it?
We always go the day after Thanksgiving, so it is a MAD HOUSE... but in a fun sort of way. Shop all day, and spend the night in a hotel. Its always fun to be with these girls and I can't wait until next year!

Cheesecake Factory anyone?
Getting rejuvenated for more shopping!

Halloween 09

We had a successful, very busy Halloween this year. The week of Halloween we crammed in 3 parties, pumpkin carving, haunted house making, and of coarse a little trick or treating. Cash had no idea what was going on, but we had fun pretending like he did!

The Dragon

The Bee (Claire) The Transformer (Abe)

The Mime's (Troy and Jem)

The artsy fartsy type

I've always thought Mason was very creative. I've always been a little jealous because it just comes so naturally to him.. and not me. Its also one of the things that I admire most about him. When it comes to photography, writing, drawing, creating of any kind, he just has a knack for it.
Well in school this semester he has been taking an art class. I thought oh how cool, its right up his ally. Well little did I know just how up his ally it was until he started his first few assignments. Needless to say I was shocked at how "artsy fartsy" he really is. Here are a few of his assignments that he has drawn.

On the move

Cash is crawling. Well more of an army crawl, but still very mobile. Once Cash was immobile, content sitting and exploring what was within his reach. Now a whole new world opens up: mobility.

A world where my hands aren’t quit as interesting anymore as my closet , or the diaper bag across the room. A world where the sound of my voice is no longer enough to instantly put him to sleep, but requires a binki, his own bed, and a quiet room. It means I'm boxing up the little clothing, and filling his drawers with the big. It means when I leave the room, he knows, and is on my tail.

A world where he has figured out that there is more to it than just eating and sleeping. A world where there are endless things to be touched, thrown, tasted, discovered and explored.

Part of me is a little sad this “immobile baby” chapter is over. It means as he gets older the less he will need me. The other part of me loves to watch him discover what this world has to offer.
