Sawyers first haircut!

Jess brought Sawyer in for his first haircut, it was kind of sad to see his cute little afro gone, but he looks so dang cute. He's the best baby, just sat there and let me cut away.

The chicken is in the pot!

The chicken is in the pot. You might think this is an interesting title, but once you understand the symbolism of this unique statement it will all make sense.
The Pot= uterus
The Chicken= fetus
The conclusion= prego
Mason has been telling me for a long time now that when I found out I am pregnant to call him and only say " the chicken is in the pot". Well when it actually came down to the moment I choked and said something really lame like umm.. i think im pregnant. So anyway its true the chicken is in fact in the pot. Im 12 weeks and so excited!

I was tagged by my sister-in-law Marie for my 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3random/ surprising facts about myself. Then tag 3 people.

Joys:
1. I love a really good restaruant. When I find a new place, its like i've struck gold. Theres just nothin better than than a meal I am completly satisfied with.
2.Going on "drink runs" I love going to RB's gas station and getting a diet coke. Not only is there diet coke really good, but there stirophome cups are just great. Mason really hates that I love this. He doens't understand getting in the car driving somewhere just to get a drink, why not just get one out of the tap? I tell him its just not the same. He thinks its so bizarre. Someday he will love it too.
3. Hanging out with family. Me and Mason are very lucky because we are very close with our families and love to be together. But my sister in laws and brothers/ brother-in-laws are my best friends.

Fears:
1.Mason getting injured/ hurt at work. I worry about this every single day.
2. Things not working out as planned. latley i've been relizing im a bit of a control freak, like flying I really dont like to fly, but I think its because I have absolutley no control what so ever on a plane.(not that I know how to fly a plane anyway) I really need to get over this.
3. I didn't know I had a fear of this until a coule of weeks ago when we were up at a cabin with the green family. I went on a walk by myself, and only got about 10 min. fromm the cabin, and quickly came back because every little noise I heard I thought it was going to be a moutain lion. Every tiny little brush in the weeds or anything freaked me right out.. so apparently im afraid of moutain lions.

3 current goals:
1. To be a really good mom. Even though im not a mom yet im always thinking of things I want to do with my kids, and the kind of mom I want to be. Im really grateful for such good sister-in-laws, and im always taking tips from them, and hoping to be like them.
2. To get our house built by March. Me and mason are soon starting construction on our house in West Kaysville, and even though we haven't started yet im already anxious for it be done.
3. To be a better chef. I really like to cook but dont do it enough, and I would really like to do it more and get reall good at it!

3 random/surprising facts about my self
1. well mason tells me i'm like an open book, but here are a few things some of you may not know. I have a really bad addiction to shoes. Its really not healthy I dont think. I got a 50 dollar tip one day at work, and when I got home I excitedly told mason about it, and he was like well where is it, and I told him I couldnt help myself and on my way home bought a pair of shoes!
2. I inhereted ADD (attention deficit disorder) from my father. I have a hard time sitting through a whole movie. Doing the same thing for too long, or holding still.
3.I love love love to sleep in. its actually probably a weakness. Sometimes when I hear mason's truck pulling in, I hurry and jump out of bed and and act like i've been up for hours cleaning the house of course!

The 4th

The fourth of July is my favorite holiday, it is not mason's though, he hates the heat, I love it, he loves the cold, i hate it. Its a wonder how this marriage works, but it does. Every year I try to convince him why the 4th should be his favorite holiday like mine. And every year he tries to convince me why its not. Maybe it will never be his favorite but im posivite he had fun. The parade, food, fireworks, the usual. It was all very fouth of julyish, and continues to be one of my favorites.

Just a little update on the fam, actually old news, im just a little behind. Nick and Jess adopted a little boy, his name is Sawyer, and he is the cutest thing ever! Troy is engaged, getting married aug. 15. Her name is Jemaica, yes like the country, and we love her.

So you know something is seriously wrong with you when you buy an $8 carmel apple pie from the chocolate factory and instead of eating the whole apple, you eat the chocolate around the apple, lick the caramel off and then throw away the apple. Why don't i just go buy caramel and white chocolate and eat it out of the package itself? Probably because some how in my brain i feel like it might be a little healthier eating it off an apple than, just eating it straight out of the package. Any how, i think I will just continue to buy my $8 apple and eat the chocolate and caramel off of it and throw the apple away.
